Fuma Sacra

My Spirit Sang All Day

1,000 years of vocal chamber music

Fuma Sacra is recognized as one of the country's most exciting and important chamber choirs specializing in early music. Founded in 1989, the ensemble has been consistently acclaimed by critics and audiences for their passionate and virtuosic performances. Their program for the Raritan River Music Festival will feature English madrigals, German songs about nature, French chansons, folksong arrangements, and David Lang’s remarkable The Little Match Girl Passion, the recipient of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize in Music.

Welcome to the 21st Raritan River Music Festival! This year the Raritan River Music Festival begins its third decade of presenting in concert many of the world’s most acclaimed musicians performing in the beautiful, picturesque settings of intimate, historic venues in Western New Jersey . Concerts will feature world premieres of new music, the tango throughout its history, 1,000 years of vocal chamber music, and one of the hottest young violinists on tour today. All audience members are invited to a reception to meet the performers following each concert
