A concert of musical fairy-tales featuring Der Rose Pilgerfahrt by Robert Schumann and Bo Holten's Rain and Rush and Rosebush. The Pilgrimage of the Rose is the fairy-tale story of an enchanted rose who becomes human and discovers the beauty of love. It was originally written for performance in the Schumann home, with a small group of singers accompanied by his wife Clara, one of the great virtuoso pianists of their age. Rain and Rush and Rosebush is a setting of a text by Hans Christian Anderson. It is a beautiful and lyrical work for twelve solo singers that has been performed more than 500 times since it was composed in 1991.
